According to a report by the Guinness Book of World Records, Alka Yagnik’s songs had 15.3 billion streams with an average of 42 million per day. The list is followed by Bad Bunny with 14.7 billion streams, Udit Narayan with 10.8 billion, Arijit Singh with 10.7 billion and Kumar Sanu with 9.09 billion.

For the unversed, Alka Yagnik has lent her voice to more than a thousand films for various Bollywood stars and has recorded over twenty thousand songs in several Indian languages.
Face debuts with 124,000 copies sold as a complete package and nearly 20 million streams. It was preceded by Jimin`s first top 40-charting song as a soloist on the songs list, “Set Me Free, Pt. 2 (debuted at No. 30). Meanwhile, Like Crazy tops this week’s Hot 100 chart, sliding Miley Cyrus’ Flowers to a No. 2 slot.

According to the Guinness World Book Records, in 2022 Alka Yagnik was the most streamed artist on YouTube globally. She had 15.3 billion streams last year, and an average of 42 million streams a day. She beat Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico), who had 14.7 million streams. Not just this, in 2021 and 2020 also the Bollywood singer had the highest number of streams, 17.7 billion and 16.6 billion respectively.
Further, according to the reports, Alka became number one on the list, leaving behind musical giants like BTS and BLACKPINK, who had 7.95 billion and 7.03 billion streams respectively. The sensations from the west like The Weekend at 13th place with 5.7 billion streams, Taylor Swift was at number 26 with 4.44billion streams and Drake at position 50 with 2.9 billion.

However, the singer was happy and grateful to God when her daughter made her realise that it was indeed a big deal. Alka revealed in an interview with Radio Nasha that her daughter started laughing when she asked, who is BTS? Eventually, she pointed out to Alka that her digital dreams have skyrocketed.
Alka confessed that numbers don’t really matter to her because these are just numbers. Today, it can be number 1 and tomorrow you can come to number 2. But, what matters is that people love listening to her and have accepted her with open arms for so many years.
